Join actor and director NANCY SULLIVAN (After Life, Call The Midwife, Boy Out The City) for this full, packed, practical evening of monologues and duologues, giving you the opportunity to work on new scripts, work with other actors and perform in front of a supportive group. This course will be run by award winning actress and director Nancy Sullivan.

Her recent directing work includes the award winning short comedy film Masterclass, Rise (White Bear), Our Teachers A Troll for the new Ruined Theatre for which she is the Artistic Director and Boy Out The City (Turbine Theatre) and her acting work includes After Life (Netflix), Call The Midwife (BBC) and The Duchess (Netflix), Les Miserables (West End) My Fair Lady and many more


The discipline to learn a new monologue from a play can be a tricky one when there is no deadline to do it for but the benefits of having done this can be great, as actors its brilliant for focus, pace and confidence.
For this workshop you will be asked to prepare a monologue, Nancy has requested that this is either a new piece or something you will find challenging. This will be worked on in detail in the session, in front of the group. A great chance to unlock challenging pieces.


You will send your Spotlight link (or similar) over ahead of the session and a suitable contemporary scene will be chosen for you for the evening of the workshops. There will be prep time during the class to work on the scene, putting your sight reading skills into practice, as well as forcing you to make instinctive choices, before performing the scene and having a working session on it with Nancy. During this session we will discuss how to make the biggest impact with a script in an audition and the importance of making bold choices.


After the performance part, our evening will end with a discussion on the importance of proactivity in what can sometimes feel like a powerless industry. This talk will instigate new ways to action taking control of your creativity, leading you to opportunities and success.
