W1 Workshops are performance technique workshops run by professional working actors, founded by Nancy Sullivan (The Stage Edinburgh Award winner) and David Thaxton (Olivier Award Winner).



Nancy can most recently be seen in The Duchess by Kathryn Ryan (Netflix) Pam Sharp in Call The Midwife (BBC) Ricky Gervais's new Netflix series After Life, released early 2019. Nancy performed in Fabric,one woman play at The Soho Theatre, gaining her second Offie nomination this year for her performanceFabric won an Edinburgh Fringe First award and Nancy won The Stage Edinburgh Award for her performance at the Underbelly in 2016. In 2018 she could also be seen playing the title role in The Country Wife at the Southwark Playhouse and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady (Teatro di San Carlo, Naples). In 2017 Nancy was part of the opening repertory company at the brand new Storyhouse Theatre in Chester, playing Lucy Lockitt in the acclaimed production of The Beggar’s Opera. Previous credits include: creating the role of Chloe for the Take That musical, Never Forget, (UK Tour, Universal Pictures DVD), Eponine in Les Misérables (Queen’s Theatre), Joanne in What If, Like Me (British Film - winner of the Rimini Festival), Harry Price, Ghost Hunter (ITV), Les Misérables - Movie directed by Tom Hooper, Anthea in Judy The Righteous (Trafalgar Studios and Kings Head Theatre), U/S and played Leah and Sandra in Beautiful Thing (Arts Theatre), Sherbet Gravel in The Fastest Clock in the Universe (Old Red Lion), Little Voice in The Rise & Fall of Little Voice (West Yorkshire Playhouse and Birmingham Rep), Gutted (Canterbury Marlowe), The Good Person of Sichuan (Colchester Mercury).


David Thaxton

David recently finished playing The Phantom in The Phantom Of The Opera, West End.

He could also be seen playing the role of King Arthur in Camelot in Concert at the London Palladium and before that played Javert in Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre. In 2017 he returned as Pilate in the acclaimed Timothy Sheader/Drew McOnie production of Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Previous credits include: Giorgio in the Donmar Warehouse revival of the Sondheim/Lapine musical Passion for which he won the 2011 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, Major John Howard in Only the Brave (Wales Millennium Centre), Roger/Mysterious Man + MD in Roller Diner (Soho Theatre), Maximilian in Candide (Menier Chocolate Factory), Raoul in Love Never Dies (Adelphi), West End Men (Vaudeville), Enjolras in Les Misérables (Queen’s), created the role of the Wolf in the world premiere of John Doyle’s The Tailor’s Daughter (Wales Millennium Centre), soloist at the opening gala for the Wales Millennium Centre, Foreman in Trial by Jury and the subsequent Chandos recording (BBC National Orchestra of Wales, St David’s Hall), Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress (Wales Millennium Centre) and Harasta in The Cunning Little Vixen (Sherman Cymru, Cardiff).
